Nicaragua has had a rough history and they are slowly recovering from the devastation that occurred years ago. Over the past 10 to 15 years Nicaragua has risen from the ashes and is pulling itself together. With increasing tourism every year and an influx of foreign investment Nicaragua is growing rapidly. Infrastructure is improving while the value of real estate is also increasing. With CAFTA Nicaragua is seeing an increase in manufacturing investment as well as a more open market to sell their goods. Managua, Granada, and San Juan del Sur have certainly seen vast improvement. Managua has beautiful hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, and more. Granada is heavily protected and undergoing massive renovation of the spectacular old Colonial homes. Outside of Granada on the Laguna, there is a luxury eco-resort community going in that will draw many visitors to Granada and Laguna de Apoyo.
